EV Charger Installation

We supply and install home EV chargers across Sevenoaks and the surrounding Kent towns, with a standard install including up to 15m of cable. The price depends on the charger you choose and how far it sits from your fuse board. TDR Electrical is NAPIT registered, we handle the DNO notification for you, and every install is certified and covered by our 12-month workmanship guarantee.

How it works

Step by step

  1. 01
    Survey

Send a few photos of your fuse board, your meter and where you want the charger. Most of the time that is enough for an exact quote. If it is not, we come and look. Either way the quote is free.

  2. 02
    Fuse board check

We confirm your board has the capacity and the right protection for a dedicated EV circuit. Most modern boards are fine. Some older boards need a small upgrade, and we price that honestly rather than burying it.

  3. 03
    DNO notification

Before or at connection we notify the network operator, which for most of Kent is UK Power Networks. It is a legal requirement and it is our job, not yours.

  4. 04
    Install day

Most home installs take half a day. We run the cable, mount the charger, connect the dedicated circuit, and tidy up after ourselves.

  5. 05
    Testing and certification

We test the circuit, commission the charger, register the work through NAPIT, and you receive your certificate. That paperwork matters for your home insurance and when you sell.

Great service. Tim was quick to respond to my message and arrived on time. He resolved my electrical issues quickly and professionally and I appreciated the manner in which he communicated and engaged. A strong service minded electrician who is reliable, what more could I ask for.

FAQ

EV Charger Installation questions

A tethered charger has its own cable permanently attached. Untethered means you use your car cable each time. Tethered is more convenient day to day. Untethered looks tidier and will not be left with an obsolete connector if you change cars. Most of our Sevenoaks customers pick tethered, but there is no wrong answer and the price difference is small.
Yes. Notifying the District Network Operator is a legal requirement and it is included. You do not need to do anything.
Sometimes. We check the board and earthing arrangement before we quote and tell you up front, with a fixed price for each part. A cheap headline price that grows on install day is not a deal, it is a sales tactic.
Most home installs take half a day.
